The Human Potential Institute 8-week Mindfulness Training, inspired by the world-famous MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program, is an extraordinary, experiential, integrated and non-conceptual 8-week learning journey into the foundational Mindfulness practices as they have been taught for millennia.

Our Mindfulness Training program includes:

  • An in-depth experiential learning journey where you will explore first-hand the transformative  potential of cultivating mindfulness—the quality of experience which comes online via the curious, open, non-evaluative and accepting orientation to one’s moment-by-moment experience.
  • Training in the four foundations of Mindfulness and Loving-Kindness (Metta) practice—plus you can gain direct experience of how these practices support greater ease, presence, wisdom and wellbeing.
  • There are eight 60-minute live Zoom Video Conference Calls with our highly-skilled Mindfulness teachers.
  • Up to 30-minutes of optional additional class time for in-person teacher inquiry, questions and feedback which will help clarify and deepen your practice.
  • This training is experiential rather than conceptual so the emphasis is on direct engagement with the practices. Each week alongside the live classes you will be able to access some supportive learning content and video instructions plus downloadable guided meditations which will support your home learning.
  • Access to live class recordings so you can listen in and participate in your own time if you happen to miss one!
  • When you complete you will have all the key skills needed to continue with your own daily practice PLUS in week 8 we will share with you a huge number of resources to further develop and sustain your practice.
  • Also in week 8 we will share with you how to seamlessly integrate mindfulness into your way of working with Clients as a Coach, therapist or any other helping professional. If you’re none of these then don’t worry! The program is relevant for everyone, and you too will learn how to engage with others (family, colleagues etc.) in more skillful and transformative ways.

Meet Your Teachers:

Rod Francis

Rod Francis

Rod is Head of Coaching Faculty as well as a co-creator of the Human Potential Coach Training program and creator and lead teacher of their 8-week Mindfulness program. He is a qualified MBSR teacher with the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School, has been practicing meditation for over 35 years, teaching for 3 decades and continues to sit regular teacher-led retreats in the western Insight tradition. Rod is a leader of Chattanooga Insight under the direction of Kittisaro and Thanissara and his guiding teacher is Yanai Postelnik.

Erin Maloney Woo, M.ED.

In addition to teaching the Mindfulness program in the Human Potential Coach Training, Erin is an Adjunct Teacher at the Mindfulness Center at the Brown University School of Public Health, where she specializes in designing and leading Mindfulness programs for educators and corporate Clients. She is on the Adjunct Faculty at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and at NHTI Community College.At Mindful Schools, Erin is a Guiding Teacher in the Mindful Teacher Certification Program.
